Inspired by a gin-making experience at Papāiti Gin Distilleryfor my 6th anniversary with my partner, this label design was created as a playful personal project. After crafting our own gin, I wanted to create a label that captured the freshness and character of the ingredients we used, while still feeling refined, modern, and premium, elevating it into a keepsake piece.

Illustration became the hero of the design, bringing in subtle botanical elements and layered details that reflect the flavour profile and craftsmanship behind the gin itself. To balance the illustrated components, the overall layout was kept clean and minimal, with a sleek label structure and contemporary typography throughout.

Orange was chosen as the key colour across the design, adding warmth, vibrancy, and a subtle nod to the citrus notes within the flavour profile. What began as a small passion project became a fun exploration of packaging design, thoughtful detail, and creating something personal that still felt shelf-worthy.
